In multiday races, the feet, a fundamental part of the body for runners, always suffer. In addition, with desert sand, sweat and overheating the risk of feet problems surge.
Riki Abad who just participated in the Marathon des Sables tells us about his own experiences with the material Lurbel, his feet and the experiences of others participants that he witnessed this year.
What was your experience of the socks like this year?
Luxury socks, no blisters at all, I had three pairs of Lurbel Bmax Desafío socks.
Did you have any blisters or scuff marks?
Nothing at all, it was incredible.
Did you see any other runners having any problems with their feet?
Yes, it was a mess at the medical aid stations, what participants have most problems with are the feet. You'd see real chafing, all the toes bandaged, runners who couldn't even walk.
Did you see other runners wearing Lurbel socks?
Almost 80% of Spanish runners wore them, in my tent almost everyone. The general opinion was very positive.
How were your clothes?
Very good, very comfortable tights, the shirt always dry and without abrasion, the socks were a luxury with no single blister.
Would you recommend Lurbel's material for this type of very challenging tests?
Of course, I would recommend it for its quality and comfort, without forgetting the design. I always notice in races and tests and especially in mountain races that it is where the sock is most visible where the feet suffers the most.
