The ESP (Ergonomic Structure Protection) is a proprietary system developed by Lurbel that adds targeted reinforcement in the areas of the sock most exposed to impact and wear: toe, heel and midsole.
Created in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Sports Podiatry (SEPOD), the system incorporates a third outer layer, designed to deliver greater cushioning, resistance and protection—without compromising flexibility or lightness.
The socks with Ergonomic Protection System (ESP), developed together with the Spanish Society of Sports Podiatry (SEPOD), incorporate an additional third layer on the outermost part of the sock.
This layer works on three levels:
The outer layer increases fabric density in high-friction zones, improving resistance to abrasion and extending the sock’s lifespan.
This additional layer delivers 25% to 40% more cushioning than a conventional sock, softening the impact of every stride.
When combined with Bmax technology, ESP boosts dermal protection, helping to reduce the risk of blisters, chafing and overheating in high-stress areas.
Light cushioning
Ideal for repeated ground contact with lightweight, flexible footwear. Provides comfort without compromising stride fluidity—perfect for running, short-distance trail or indoor training.
Medium cushioning
Designed for long hikes or walking sessions, or for use with semi-rigid footwear (like hiking shoes or approach boots). Balances comfort with reactivity.
Maximum cushioning and protection
Built for extreme environments or highly rigid footwear, such as expedition boots or ski boots. Offers an extra buffer between foot and external impact.
