LURBEL at the II Multidisciplinary Conference on Sports Podiatry at the UMH of Elche
On Tuesday 6 May, the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Alicante) hosted the 2nd Multidisciplinary Conference on Sports Podiatry under the title ‘What the podiatrist should know about the world of running and trail running’. This event brought together students, future podiatrists and experts from the sector to deepen their knowledge of the world of running and trail running from different professional perspectives.
Among the speakers, Miguel Lurbe, Co-Founder of Lurbel and Head of Marketing and Promotion of the brand, gave an interesting talk focused on textile technology at the service of the skin care of the feet of athletes. Miguel shared with the attendees the evolution and innovation that Lurbel has incorporated over the years in its products, specifically in socks, stressing the importance of prevention and wellness in sports performance.
The main objective of this conference was to bring future podiatrists closer to the reality that surrounds disciplines such as running and trail running, and to help them understand how other professional areas —such as textiles, biomechanics, footwear, training or the experience of an ultra marathon runner— contribute to the care and health of the athlete.
Miguel Lurbe’s participation was particularly appreciated by the attendees, who had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the textile solutions developed specifically to protect feet against chafing, blisters and other common problems in sports. In addition, an interesting space for debate and exchange of experiences between professionals and students was generated, thus promoting multidisciplinary learning.
